Details of City Civil Court, Calcutta

Address:

The Court Building Main Gate is at the left side of Kiran Shankar Roy Road if one walks towards Strand Road. The address is 2 & 3, Kiran Shankar Roy Road, Kolkata, West Bengal PIN- 700001

Inside the building:

Ground floor:

At the right side of the entrance one can find the Suranjan Mukhejee Stamp Vendor stall.

At the starting of the staircase just opposite the old elevators one can find the S. Chatterjee Stamp Vendor stall which is smaller than the Suranjan Mukherjee stall.

There are two Calcutta City Court Bar Association rooms. One is behind the Suranjan Mukherjee Stamp Vendor Stall at west and another is just opposite the new elevators at east.

Behind the old elevators at north is the Rent Control office.

At the South there is a room marked as Record room 2.

At the far South-East corner there is Judges’ elevator and another staircase.

 

First floor:

At the east there is an office of City Civil Court Police beside which a record room is present.

At the south there are Court rooms, namely 9^th, 10^th, 8^th and 2^nd Bench.

At the north there are old elevators beside which there is State Legal Services Authority, West Bengal.

Then there is an outdoor dispensary at the west.

Second Floor:

There is City Civil Court Bar Association room at the north beside the old elevators.

A Cash department is present at the east.

Main second floor:

At the north continues the staircase towards 3^rd floor.

At the south there are court rooms, viz. 11^th, 4^th, 7^th, 5^th and Registrar Bench.

At the far west there is a small office of Government Pleader.

Third floor:

At the far west there is a small office of Additional Government Pleader.

At the north there is an office of Assistant Registrar-in-charge.

At the east there is an office of District Legal Services Authority, Calcutta.

Main third floor:

At the north there are old elevators beside which there is Presidency Small Cause Court Bar Association.

At the east there is Presidency Small Cause Court recreation club, Calcutta.

At the south there are court rooms, viz. 6^th, 12^th, 3^rd, 13^th Bench and Chief Judge Bench.

Fourth floor:

At the south there are court rooms, viz. 6^th Bench (Bench no.13), 3^rd Bench (Bench no.14), 5^th Bench (Bench no.15), Registrar Bench (Bench no.16) and Chief Judge Bench, all of Presidency Small Cause Court. Not to be mistaken with City Civil Court.

Fifth floor:

At the west there is an office of Administrative officer, LR’s Office.

At the north there are old elevators beside which there is Copying Department of City Civil Court.

At the east there is an office of the Legal Remembrance.

Then there is a Cash section of LR’s office.

Sixth floor:

At the east there is an office of English Department of Presidency Small Cause Court.

At the north there is copying department of Presidency Small Cause Court.

Seventh floor:

At the east there is office of Bar Council of West Bengal.

At the west there is Indian Law Institute room.

At the south there is a Rent Controller Bench.
